The following silver cutlery are items for sale currently on my Ebay. The silver for sale is a mixture of silver cutlery, knives forks and spoons. There's a solid silver spoon possible made by Solomon Houghman and Georgian, some silver cutlery from the Great British Hotel and an assortment of other silver items.
The silver is being sold as scrap although there are some nice pieces of silver amongst the 'lots'.

Sylvac Apple Face Pot

Many years ago my wife inherited a number of items from her gran and one of these was a Sylvac Apple face pot. I had never heard of the name Sylvac before and never really took much notice of it whilst it sat on the shelf. In fact, I used to see these old face pots all over the place, they were always easily available at car boots.

These days though, they are getting harder to find, especially the rarer Sylvac face pots, like the Sylvac Apple Face Pot. I guess they have become more popular with collectors and these days, whenever I come across any i buy them for the wife because she is hooked on collecting them. In fact, I have to put another shelf up just to accommodate the ever growing collection.

Every now and again, I have to 'cull' the Sylvac collection because she has many duplicates, its my fault because I simply cannot resist buying them for her.

This Sylvac Apple Face Pot is up for sale because she has the original given to her by her gran. Its in a good condition although there is a little 'crazing', usually found on Sylvac face pots due to the age and how they were made.

For a collector of Sylvac face pots, I am sure this would be a nice edition although if you have been collecting for a while I am sure you probably own one already.

Burslem Ford & Co. Minoba Tureen Serving Dish

I like this old china tureen, very 'shabby chic', the blue and white pattern looks wonderful and I can see this not looking out of place sat on an old welsh dresser.

Condition is not perfect, as with a lot of the old china I find, there are a couple of firing defects caused when the dish was in the kiln. There is a makers stamp which reads MIMOBA, S.Ford & Co, Burslem, Lincoln Pottery England.

The dish measures just over 9" inches across and 2 1/2 inches deep, a really nice peice of Burslem china.

Alfred Meakin Glen Helen Tureen Serving Dish

The Alfred Meakin, Glen Helen, Tureen Serving Dish is showing its age a little but still a nice decorative piece of china, ideal for displaying. The dish measures just over 8 1/2 inches across and just under 3 inches deep.

Decorative China Plate Quail

The china plate is in superb condition and measures 5" inches across., there is a makers mark but its unreadable. Decorated with Quails the plate would be an ideal gift and look wonderful on display.

Vintage Toledo Cocktail Swords with Gold Stand

The other day I found a Toldeo cocktail stand with Toledo swords, never seen one before although I vaguley recall seeing something similar when I used to visit my aunt as a child. I remember playing with the tiny swords and it was nice to take a trip down 'memory' lane whilst photographing, or should I say 'playing' with the Toledo Coctail swords & stand.

Having read a little about the Toldeo cocktail swords and stands I was amazed to find out that Toledo have been making swords for over 2000 years. The "Toldeo Cocktail Swords" are a little later and started production in the early 50's. I am guessing that the market for actual swords started to wain and so, like a lot of manufacturers this was a way to keep in business.



















The Toledo Coctail swords and stand I have are 'gold' coloured and probably brass, earlier ones were actually made using gold plate. The condition is not too bad, there's a little wear from age but still a nice collectable to add to any collection.

This little set has six Toldeo swords and the detail is very good, the Toledo stand is very ornate with enamelled detailing also.

Royal Vale China Tea Cup, Saucer & Plate

The Royal Vale China teacup, saucer and plate, some slight wear but otherwise a nice little set of china. There is a brownish mark on the saucer which looks like paint, hence the low asking price.
